Marketing Your Business For the 21st Century
The verdict is in. The Internet is not a fad. It isn’t going away. Social media sites – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn – are growing at unbelievable rates. Social media marketing, in turn, is experiencing growth at a rate which exceeds most people’s basicgrasp, much less their capacity to make it work for them. If you run a company of any kind, of any size, for any product or service at all, and you don’t have a Facebook, a Twitter for business, and aren’t on LinkedIn, you’re missing out. These new tools are as vital to marketing in the 21st century as magazine ads and billboards were in the 20th century.
Social media marketing is vital to many companies as the transfer away from traditional print media continues. Less people are buying newspapers and magazines than ever before, with news being updated 24/7 online and magazines producing content-rich free websites. Where are the billions of dollars in ad money once earmarked for print media ads being utilized now? Online marketing. The bare minimum a company should have is a website and a Facebook page. Anything less than that and your company is missing out on a huge consumer base.
The biggest query that business owners have is “Does social media marketing work?” Why should they expend money to advertise in something that, in their minds, hasn’t been proven? It’s simple – because it works. If you need to find out something, what is the first thing you do? You Google it. If you employ a social media marketing company, they know how to drive business to your company’s website by using search engine optimization and make the most of your website and Facebook pages. Google is driven by search engine optimization. Wouldn’t you want your company’s website to come up on the first or second page of a Google search?
The goal of advertising is to reach as many people as possible, as inexpensively as possible, but as effectively as possible. Social media marketing takes this concept and runs with it. Instead of squandering hundreds of thousands of dollars on print ads that most people aren’t going to see, wouldn’t you rather spend a fraction of that and have your ads targeted to a more interested audience? Your investment return could be far greater with less dollars. That idea should appeal to any savvy business owner.
With the rapid growth of social media, it is logical that social media marketing has also grown at an exponential rate. Maintaining a Facebook page where you can easily interact with your clients and using tactics that increase your company’s internet visibility are two ways that you can spend less money and hopefully make more. Social media marketing can take any small company and expand it beyond your expectations.
